Novena Prayers in Preparation for The Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz and His Companion Martyrs, Thursday, September 28

Starting this Tuesday, September 19, these novena prayers will be prayed at our 8:30am Mass, and at the 10am Mass on Sunday, September 24. If you are unable to attend, we encourage you to use the following prayers at home.

Dear Lord, we acknowledge that you are the source of all truth, goodness, beauty, and holiness. You have inspired Your son, Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, to proclaim your name by the shedding of his blood. Be with us during the days of this Novena so that like Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, we may allow You to be the center and master of our lives. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

PETITIONS

Dear Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, you showed yourself to be a responsible father of your family. You chose to live in the midst of suffering. Look with gracious eyes upon our families. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us.

You were a loyal and faithful servant of the Church by fulfilling your duties to God and to his people. Inspire us to be loyal to our commitments. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us.

You were a hard-working member of your parish. Teach us to take an active part in parish activities and become worthy instruments of Christ in works of charity. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us.

You remained a man of peace despite the evil that surrounded you. Intercede for us that we may be people of peace and gentleness in our troubled world. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz. pray for us.

You and your companions were firm in your faith in Christ, even willing to die for his sake. Help us to be brave and fearless defenders of our Catholic Faith. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz, pray for us.

You are now in glory with all the Saints of Heaven, in your kindness bring before the throne of God, my petitions (mentions your intentions). Almighty Father, you have given us Saint Lorenzo Ruiz as a model of an unwavering fidelity and unflinching courage as he withstood the forces of death to defend his faith.
